Why I Don't Have Any Tattoos?

One verse in the bible prevents me from getting a tattoo. However,  I have thought about getting the word "JESUS" or a bible verse tatted on my arm. Then, I came across the Leviticus 19:28 scripture, and decided not to proceed with the tattoo. Thinking, GOD would be more pleased with me not having a tattoo at all, rather than having a tattoo of a bible scripture. Plus, honestly, I just don't like needles in general, so it was an easy decision.

What are idols?

The Online Dictionary definition of an idol says: "an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship"

Idols from a biblical stand point means anything that you put before GOD. It can be people, places, or things. Many times we have idols and don't even realize it. It can be the TV, a famous actor, a famous singer, it can be a car, it can be food, it can be family members, money, or drugs. Well you may asked, 'how do you know if you are idolizing something?' An example to know if you are idolizing something is to know something's wrong or it doesn't pleases GOD, and you continue to do it anyway. Put GOD first in your life and love Him with all your heart, and everything else will fall in line.

Things Isn't Always What They Seem p2

We shouldn't worry about things that's out of our control. We can pray over situations. We can speak scripture into the atmosphere. Then, we let our father in heaven have his way. Matthew chapter 6 verse 25 and 26 speaks about why we shouldn't worry about things, even though they may seem bad, such as being laid off from work because a company closed down.

Things Isn't Always What They Seem

Sometimes things happen in our lives, we may deem as bad things, but in the spiritual realm, it's actually a good thing. When things occur that's out of our control, we can't let these situations worry us, simply because it's out of our control. We can't control other people and their actions, we can only control ourselves and our actions. When something happens beyond our control, I look at it as something that's meant to be, whether it looks bad to the nature world or not. I look at it as an opportunity for growth spiritually, as an opportunity to learn what GOD has planned for me, as an opportunity to carry out GOD's plan for me, and an opportunity for GOD to be glorified based on what happened.

Talking VS Communicating in Marriage

My pastor had a marriage night at church yesterday, and spoke to the couples about 'fail proofing' their marriage. One of the topics discussed was about the difference between talking and communicating, which is listening with your heart instead of your head. It's one thing to not know something, it's another thing to not want to know something.
Some people bury their head in the sand and refuse to know the truth about something that can potently help them. Now, there will always be people around you giving you bad advice, don't mean you no good, or simply out to harm you. However, there are a few people who may have your best interest at heart and will give you good advice. It may not be the advice you want to hear, but sometimes GOD speak to you through others. Another Awesome 'Need to See" Christian Movie!

I just recently saw the movie "Sinners Wanted" (2018), which was a blessing to watch! I was very moved by this movie as the plot comes from the book of Hosea in the bible, where GOD instructs Hosea to marry a prostitute. The book of Daniel in the bible talked about Daniel being blessed, his faith in GOD, his fasting, his prayer life, his relationship with GOD, and his ability to interpret dreams; to name a few. His story is inspiring, motivational, and full of spiritual knowledge. There are so many deep messages I believe can really elevate your life spiritually. It's only 12 chapters compared to many other books in the bible such as Psalms with 150 chapters. Manly Monday’s At My Church

I attended a service at my church called ‘Manly Mondays’, where the men of the church get together and talk about issues we are having and discuss personal testimonies. It is a place where men can feel free to talk about anything on their mind without being judged. I always feel inspired when I leave one of those meetings after hearing countless testimonies from the other men. Additionally, I always feel better knowing that I’m not alone, and that all of us have our own challenges and struggles that we are dealing with. Therefore, it helps me stay motivated to stay in the fight and continue to push through my own personal struggles. Congregating with others help fight against my depression and frustration. We pray together as a whole, knowing that there's strength in numbers; in additional to our personal prayers we pray in private. Thankful Today

The Way Up Is Down

What do people mean when they say, 'the way up is down'? In my definition it means being humble and being the best 'you' you can be. It's being content with your situation, whatever the situation is. For example, you may be working at a low paying job and working under an unprofessional supervisor; however, you still come to work with a positive attitude. Even though your boss may be unprofessional in how he or she handle their employees, you still continue to follow orders and the duties of your job with a smile, without any complaints or complaining. It means being appreciative of the job that you have and not worrying about what you don't have; not just in the workplace, but in any area of your life. Now, I wouldn't recommend staying in a tough situation if you have the opportunity to advance, but until then, maintain Godly character by having a positive attitude until you make the transition.

Many people use their past as an excuse to why they can't get ahead in life. Things such as, not having a parent growing up, or growing up in foster homes, or growing up in a rough neighborhood. Don't let your past determine your future. Rather, use your past as fuel and drive to succeed in life. There are countless stories of famous successful people who had a hard life growing up but made it through life obstacles. You want to be able to tell your story about how the odds were against you, but it didn't stop you from reaching your goals. Then, your testimony can be a blessing to someone else who may be in the same predicament you were, inspiring them that, they can succeed too. Everyone has struggles in life even if it don't seem like it for some people. The question is, are you going to let it stop you from succeeding or not let it stop you? CYB 4-23-2019

Holidays

Holidays is all about fellowshiping with family and friends. It's about coming together to show how much we care about one another enjoying each other's company. It's also about being a blessing to others. CYB 4-22-2019

Resurrection Sunday

John 11:25-26
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Sometimes We Fall Off Course

No matter how bad our situation may seem. We have to continue to push forward. We can use our set backs and disappointments as fuel to drive us to be better. We may need to try harder, try something different, or come at your situation from a different angle. The Daniel Fast

Please make sure to READ THE LABEL when purchasing packaged, canned or bottled foods. They should be sugar-free and chemical-free. Keep this in mind as you review this list of acceptable foods.

Foods to include in your diet during the Daniel Fast:

All fruits. These can be fresh, frozen, dried, juiced or canned. Fruits include but are not limited to apples, apricots, bananas, blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, cantaloupe, cherries, cranberries, figs, grapefruit, grapes, guava, honeydew melon, kiwi, lemons, limes, mangoes, nectarines, oranges, papayas, peaches, pears, pineapples, plums, prunes, raisins, raspberries, strawberries, tangelos, tangerines, watermelon

All vegetables. These can be fresh, frozen, dried, juiced or canned. Vegetables include but are not limited to artichokes, asparagus, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, chili peppers, collard greens, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, ginger root, kale, leeks, lettuce, mushrooms, mustard greens, okra, onions, parsley, potatoes, radishes, rutabagas, scallions, spinach, sprouts, squashes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, turnips, watercress, yams, zucchini, veggie burgers are an option if you are not allergic to soy.

All whole grains, including but not limited to whole wheat, brown rice, millet, quinoa, oats, barley, grits, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat tortillas, rice cakes and popcorn.
All nuts and seeds, including but not limited to sunflower seeds, cashews, peanuts, sesame. Also nut butters including peanut butter.

All legumes. These can be canned or dried. Legumes include but are not limited to dried beans, pinto beans, split peas, lentils, black eyed peas, kidney beans, black beans, cannellini beans, white beans.

All quality oils including but not limited to olive, canola, grape seed, peanut, and sesame.

Beverages: spring water, distilled water or other pure waters.

Other: tofu, soy products, vinegar, seasonings, salt, herbs and spices.

Foods to avoid on the Daniel Fast:

All meat and animal products including but not limited to beef, lamb, pork, poultry, and fish.

All dairy products including but not limited to milk, cheese, cream, butter, and eggs.

All sweeteners including but not limited to sugar, raw sugar, honey, syrups, molasses, and cane juice.

All leavened bread including Ezekiel Bread (it contains yeast and honey) and baked goods.

All refined and processed food products including but not limited to artificial flavorings, food additives, chemicals, white rice, white flour, and foods that contain artificial preservatives.

All deep fried foods including but not limited to potato chips, French fries, corn chips.

All solid fats including shortening, margarine, lard and foods high in fat.

Beverages including but not limited to coffee, tea, herbal teas, carbonated beverages, energy drinks, and alcohol. CYB 4-19-2019
